A Minnesota Without Poverty (AMWP) would like to thank our cosponsors and those who attended the second of five in our campaign of Enough for All.  A Minnesota Without Poverty is a statewide movement to end poverty in Minnesota by 2020 and a partner in the Half in Ten Campaign.  We believe there is enough for all to have enough, if we all do our part.

The Enough for All Campaign will continue to focus on issues on poverty in Minnesota and the United States.  There will be five campaign events in five Congressional Districts across the state.  The second Enough for All Campaign was held in Edina on October 22 and Minnetonka on October 23, and was open to the public.  These campaigns include: Arts opening with live performances, call to action on state and federal issues, mini-workshops and learning stations, discussion with your elected officials, the Minnesota Church Ladies live, fair-like atmosphere, food and drink and activities for the whole family.

Please check out the pictures of the event and see what all the excitement is about!

Even a cursory look at world history reveals that there have been few periods when Western civilization has not suffered under the injustice and oppressions of some kind of domination system. Ancient Babylon, Rome, feudalism, the early nation states and twentieth-century dictators are all examples of this form of servitude.

But never until now has the world endured a domination system reaching its tentacles into every nation and home on this planet. Even the most isolated jungle-dwellers face incursions by greedy oil companies, gold mining interests, or timber companies. No one escapes.

Ending poverty is in everyone’s interest. As Theodore Roosevelt said a hundred years ago, “This country will not be a permanently good place for any of us to live in unless we make it a reasonably good place for all of us to live in.”
