The Minnesota Church Ladies are Back!

The Minnesota Church Ladies are back with the third video in the Enough for All Series. Once again they make a discovery: When one person is affected, we are all affected. Five vignettes tell the story: Earl Lost His Job, 24/7, The Local Library, After School, and Pickle Jar. And the bottom line is this: We have enough for all to have enough. And--We all hurt when some of us don't have enough.

By Jim Jordal

I heard it again the other day: "It’s not about money, it’s about people." Sounds good, doesn’t it? Makes us feel that we’re somehow above all the smelly, earthy turmoil surrounding markets, budgets, taxes, spending. Allows us to delude ourselves that we are somehow better than the world of mammon, that besmirched, dirty stuff that greedy financiers and money wizards struggle over. But that’s not us, is it?

Folks, we had better get concerned about money if we’re ever going to conquer poverty in America, not to mention the world. It’s is about money, stupid! If we want to be about people, then we’d better also be about money. We need to learn where money comes from, why there’s so little of it, and why we can’t seem to make any changes in either of these. About the only thing most of us do know about money is that there’s not enough of it, but few care to find out why. Just so we have enough for ourselves. It’s sort of a peripheral area not to be concerned with because we’re so busy rescuing people.
